President’s Letter:
The first full year of restrictions and alterations to the educational process, caused by the pandemic, were dealt with by the Mishawaka Education Foundation without a hiccup. Our donors continued their generous support, allowing the Foundation to provide over $100,000.00 to School City and our teachers in 2021.
Funding was provided to allow Academic and Robotic Teams to return to competition. Support was continued to the One Mental Wellness Campaign and the United Way grant campaign to Prevent Blindness. Beyond the Cave, a program at Mishawaka High School, educating students and parents concerning educational opportunities after high school, was also aided with grants. Lego Leagues are now available for elementary schools. Support was provided to form these leagues. The Mishawaka Education Foundation was also able to support the return of Junior Achievement to School City classes.
The support mentioned above and much more would not have been possible without the generosity of our donors and the time and work commitment of the Mishawaka Education Foundation Board. Executive Director, Jane Wright and our board members continue “out of the box” thinking to provide new, different and exciting opportunities to expand our fundraising activities. I encourage anyone wanting to be a part of this experience, to join us by donating, volunteering or financially supporting us. Once again, I would like to thank everyone who plays a role with the Mishawaka Education Foundation efforts to support our schools, teachers and students!
